Settlement data and optional on-device diagnostics
Guidance updated: October 25, 2026
When creators register a bank account and request settlement, MOF processes the bank code, account-holder name and account number, and account-linked earnings, balances and payout records. These support destination verification, manual settlement, and necessary accounting and dispute records. The app provides a separate notice and obtains consent before collecting bank details. The Privacy Policy below also governs retention, deletion and privacy requests.
On-device diagnostic recording is off by default. If enabled, it records usage stages and processing times only on that device, without automatic transmission. Turning it off deletes the device’s diagnostic record.
Diagnostic content leaves the device only when the user chooses to include it in a support email or share an aggregate. A support request may include the message, app version/build and OS, plus optional timings, error codes and request references. Emails and diagnostic details sent to support may be associated with the sender to handle the request. Photos and authentication information are not automatically attached to diagnostics.
1. Account, profile, and Market data
Amazon Cognito and your chosen Apple or Google provider authenticate your account. Your email address may be passed to those providers during sign-in. The MOF API account key is the Cognito identifier. The server stores display name, handle, optional website and Instagram, profile photos and publication cover images (JPEG), filter recipes, titles, descriptions, tags, review text, StoreKit transaction-verification data, credit and royalty ledgers, APNs device tokens and notification preferences for devices that enable push notifications, and signed-in recommendation and growth events (link open, app open, acquire, use). MOF does not receive passwords.
2. How photos are handled
Original and edited photos are processed on the device and are not uploaded as filter artifacts. The exceptions are a profile photo you choose, up to three publication samples a creator explicitly selects, and a publication cover made by cropping a selected photo to 3:4 and rendering it with the filter. Uploaded photos are converted to JPEG and stripped of EXIF, GPS, location, and other capture metadata. MOF may review them and, after approval, display them in the Market and on the public web. Creator photos are not used to train or improve AI models without separate, affirmative consent.
3. Payout, identity, and tax data
When a creator requests a payout, MOF or its identity-verification and payout providers may collect, as needed, legal name, date of birth and age result, address, country of residence and tax residence, taxpayer identifiers and tax forms, information from or copies of government-issued identity documents, and KYC result and reference number. They also process payout-destination identifiers such as a PayPal email and ownership result, payout requests and status, gross amount, fees, payout currency, exchange rate and FX cost, withholding, and net amount. The specific fields are limited to what applicable law, the creator's country, and the provider require.
4. How the data is used
Data is used for account verification, Market, publishing, gifting, following, credits and transaction verification, recommendations, notifications, abuse prevention, royalty calculation, age-19 and KYC checks, payout-destination verification, creator payouts, tax withholding and reporting, and dispute handling. MOF does not sell or provide it to advertising networks and does not store cross-app tracking identifiers. Creator content is not used to train or improve AI models without separate, affirmative consent.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Authentication, cloud hosting, App Store payment, identity-verification, payout, and tax-processing providers may process data only as needed to provide those services. MOF may provide only necessary information to authorities when legally required. Core service data is processed in the AWS Asia Pacific (Seoul) Region, while authentication, payout, KYC, and tax providers may process data in the regions where they operate, subject to their safeguards and legal obligations.
6. Retention and deletion
Account and public-profile data is kept while needed to provide the service and is deleted or de-identified after an account-deletion request. If a filter is rejected or unpublished, or the account ends, publication samples stop being externally visible immediately and, unless a legal retention duty applies, the original and filtered sample files are deleted within 30 days. Content, license, and acquisition records needed to keep serving existing purchasers, and transaction, royalty, payout, KYC, tax, fraud-prevention, and dispute records, are retained only for legally required periods and reasonable periods needed to establish or defend rights. Raw identity documents are limited to the minimum period needed for verification and legal retention; where feasible, only the verification result and reference are kept. Data is securely deleted or de-identified when the purpose and retention basis end. Photos exported to the Photos app are not deleted with a MOF account.
7. Choices and contact
You can request account deletion in the app's settings. If required payout information is not provided, a creator cannot receive a payout, but non-payout features remain available where applicable. Requests to access, correct, or delete personal data, and other privacy questions, may be sent to support@myownfilm.com.
